The Ohio Postal Workers Union along with four member locals who are facing mail processing plant closures this year have joined together to produce mymailmyohio.com a website geared to informing the public about what will happen to mail processing and delivery if these plants are closed.

With assistance from the national union and the Ohio AFL-CIO, the website is up and active.  We are asking our members, all postal employees, and the general public to visit the site and recommend it to others through social media.  

Our elected officials need to hear from people other than postal employees about how slowed-down service would negatively affect their life.  

Do you realize that veterans make up 25% of the postal workforce?  With these consolidations there will be less opportunity for veterans to find a decent job with life-supporting wages and benefits.

Senior citizens rely heavily on the USPS to deliver retirement checks and medicine in a timely fashion.  

Faith-based organizations use the Postal Service to mail their publications to their congregations.

Bulk mailers receive a discount when they mail locally.  The mailers in Youngstown, Akron, Toledo and Dayton will lose their discounts when these plants are consolidated.  Akron and Toledo are scheduled to close in April and Youngstown and Dayton in July.

We are asking that everyone visit mymailohio.com and join in the fight to save mail processing in Ohio and the other 78 plants across the country that will close this year.  We need you to get this message out on social media, so if you facebook, tweet, or whatever method you use - HELP US SAVE THE POSTAL SERVICE!!!
