Defend the American Dream Rally

On Friday, August 21 the Ohio AFL-CIO will sponsor a rally to "Defend the American Dream". The workers' rally is being held to protest the national summit of Amercians for Prosperity. The summit includes such conference subjects as right-to-work and other anti-worker causes. One of the main supporters of Americans for Prosperity are the Koch Brothers.
Rally participants are asked to meet between 9:00-9:45 AM at the McFerson Commons across the street from Nationwide Arena. A march to the Columbus Convention Center will begin at 10:00 AM and the rally will conclude by 12:00 PM.
It is expected that several high-profile presidential candidates and other 2016 office seekers (including Rob Portman) will speak at the Summit.
The Ohio AFL-CIO is sponsoring buses from most major Ohio cities including Cleveland, Toledo, Akron, Canton, Youngstown, Cincinnati, Steubenville, Chillicothe and others. Check with your local AFL-CIO for more information.
