On November 14, 2014 postal workers all over the United States will participate in a National Day of Action to protest the possibility of lower service standards, the continuing delay of mail, and the consolidation of 82 more processing centers.
The APWU, National Association of Letter Carriers (NALC), the Mailhandlers Union and the Rural Letter Carriers Union will join together in the nationwide protest. All four organizations are joining together to fight to keep the USPS alive and the best postal system in the world.
Congress has had almost five years to pass postal reform and solve the financial problems facing the Postal Service, but to date have done nothing about the problem. Frankly, we are more than tired of waiting for Congress to do anything positive. Hopefully this day of action will inform the public that their postal service is in serious jeopardy.
